I guess it's better to move the discussion here? Thank you for responding. Regarding the sprites, the female Wobbuffet has been released this week, and Meloetta's Pirouette Forme is due for release next week. The released Pikachu sprites have already been added. However, I'm wondering if the archives allow for uploading part of the unreleased sprites as well - especially the Gen VII Pokemons. That was done in the past so that the sprites are ready to be used on the Shuffle list. The other variants (original designs for Shuffle) can't really be uploaded yet because we don't know what the game will name them. So is it possible for Pokemon #722-#802, the Alolan variants, and alternate formes from main games (Deoxys, Castform, Meloetta, and female Wobbuffet) to be added if the current rules still allow for it? Those are based on main game Pokemon designs, so it's a definite that they'll be released. It would be better to add them now than do it as they release. The Shiny variants, Pikachu variants, and the Zygarde formes (these formes weren't actual Pokemon in the Sun/Moon) can be put on hold. Those aren't as certain to be released after all. Thank for you taking your time to do this though! Sucoleo (talk) 08:52, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

:I definitely agree that I think the Pokémon sprites themselves should be added for the ones from 722-802; after all, there's no way of knowing when a certain one will become a special stage or when they might get added as a group to main stages (yeah, right).  However, some invoke questions while others now need some thought.
:In the latter group are Hippopotas and Meloetta.  I know that Meloetta's Pirouette Forme is what is used here, and I have no issue with preparing it for possible use as they kinda need something for special stages again.  Hippopotas...are they adding a separate female sprite?  In the former category, you bring up the Pikachu variants; how many of the 16 numbered variants and 6 lettered variants are in there now?  The Mega formes in general are all already there, again suspecting that the rest would become full stages I think we agreed due to fluidity of the game to update weekly that it was best to just keep them readily available; the only question to their inclusion is whether there are certain things changed?  Also, what is pokemon_icon.png?  I see both Zygardes in there and am curious if those will appear, as well.
:The most important thing, if we do add them, is that the images have to be numbered to match our existing onesl; see for instance the below image, which has its Archives home at http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:Shuffle152.png (coincidentally, I uploaded it in 2015):
:To find any Pokémon, take the file link above and change the number to any number (up to 721) to find every one of the 721 Pokémon and add letters for some variants in the same style as our other sprites (like Keldeo having a 647R form in Shuffle, and Meowstic's 678F which is numbered differently from the other in game).  All future files have to be named using their numbers before being used.  I can go through and look at this.
:With that said, I want to confirm 100% your source.  Did you rip these from the game yourself directly, or are they posted on someone else's site?  I personally have no objection with uploading them, again due to the update fluidity this game likely will have, but at the same time know we don't want to upload something we either need to obtain permission to use first (in which case it might still be added later once we contact that site) or to upload something that we are not certain is going to be used (I'm looking at the Shiny forms here, and if one ever does get used, then we'll prep the whole lot of them).  CycloneGU (talk) 17:23, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
::Yes, they are adding a female sprite for Hippopotas and Hippowdon. Of the numbered Pikachu variants, only four of them (#4-7) have been introduced in the game. It appears that a user has already added those four sprites into the Archives. None of the lettered variants and Ash Pikachu are in yet. I do not know why certain Mega sprites are included. I compared them to older sprites, but there doesn't seem to be any differences. pokemon_icon.png is Crabrawler. I don't think these are the original names of the sprites, and it's likely the original uploader renamed them for identification purposes. Those Zygarde formes are still a mysterious for now.
::I am not the original uploader of these files. These sprites were publicly shared by this person - who obtained it on a Discord channel. I do not know who ripped the files. It's best to contact that redditor or the person who uploaded the files ([email protected]). :::I heard from GlowingTail this morning before leaving for a while.  We have the permission to use them - in fact, ANYONE does, apparently.  So I'll be getting to work on naming files appropriately for upload from my copy of the ZIP, though the four already up I will talk to someone about to decide whether those filename formats will apply for the others or whether we change them.  Thanks for bringing the ZIP to our attention!  CycloneGU (talk) 00:49, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
I just noticed that there is a mobile rip of the sprites, and I saw your response to it as well. Do you think we could replace the old files with the mobile ones? The 3DS sprites seem to have size discrepancies. Take male and female Wobbuffets for example. The more recent sprite (female) is larger than the older one (male) despite both being 128x128. Vivillion sprites also have a weird size difference as well. However, the size remains consistent in the mobile ones. Using the mobile ones adds consistency to the presentation of these sprites. It's jarring when alternate formes of certain Pokemons differ in size despite it not being the case in-game. It seems that I'm capable of uploading now, so perhaps I can assist you in replacing those files with the higher quality ones. My other contributions aren't that stellar, and I think I used the bad image tag wrongly. So I think I'll refrain from helping in areas where I'm not familiar with. Replacing images with higher quality ones (provided they are available) is a simple task for me though! I'll await your response before taking any actions. Sucoleo (talk) 18:38, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
:Are the last set I uploaded actually Mobile sprites? I can see that might be a cause for the difference. Do you have the ZIP of all of the files already ready to go?  As long as they are all properly centered, show me what you have and I can set you loose on replacing what we've had for two years. =)  CycloneGU (talk) 19:13, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
::I am pretty sure the set that you uploaded were the 3DS ones. I do not know of anyone other than tsukimechii to have ripped the mobile sprites. GlowingTail also named that ZIP as "Alolan Update 3DS Icons". Perhaps there were updated sprites for the older ones, but they were not included. I have downloaded the ZIP from the reddit thread, and I'm ready to work anytime! As far I can tell, they are all properly centered. Sucoleo (talk) 19:56, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
:::Has he specifically said the images are available for anyone to use at any time, without retribution, and can you thus say our using then would not get us in trouble? That i a crtieria for us to use images; if someone else rips them, even though that user doesn't own the images themselves, we still need to know we are legally allowed to use images ripped as part of his image ripping work. Obviously we treat them as fair use for the purpose of Nintendo or such owning them.  CycloneGU (talk) 20:35, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
:::Also, one more thing. Make sure to rename the files in the archive in the format of Shuffle### format, with forms getting proper matching numbering per the conventions we've used for them. For instance, female Meowstic would be Shuffle678F (male is unnumbered), Rainy Form Castform is Shuffle351R, and so on. I'm told you can quickly upload and replace over existing files directly with names that way, whereas the way they're named you'll need to select the proper filename to replace each time. If you have any questions over file names, you can let me know about any you're not sure about and I can help find them for you. Also, some forms and Shinies are not uploaded yet, so we'll come to those later as well when we upload. Again, please link me to something showing we have permission to use them and I'll give the go-ahead.  CycloneGU (talk) 20:40, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
::::I gave it a day, but there is no reply so far. tsukimechii isn't an active user on reddit, so I can't guarantee a timely update on this matter. The closest thing I found to a confirmation of free usage of their work is this - a month old comment. It does seem like they intend for others to make use of the sprites they ripped. If that doesn't pass the upload criteria, then we'll have to wait for a personal reply from them - something which I can't assure. I can try to look for other ways to contact them though. Sucoleo (talk) 17:43, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
:::::I asked another editor to verify my thought here, and we're agreeing to go ahead and use the latest set at this point (the 10, not the 9). Please rename all of the files to make uploading easier. That way, when you select "Shuffle001", it comes up noting the existing file and you can just hit upload, you don't have to select any permissions or anything. If you want a list of all Shuffle file names uploaded so far, check my upload history; I think I uploaded all of them. You can see the files I myself uploaded here and later on in my history here (do a page search for "Shuffle" and make sure to move to later pages from the second link). Referring to the history should help with any form questions, though the main 802 should be easy to replace. =)  CycloneGU (talk) 20:12, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
:::::And just a note: if there's some file you see I did NOT upload, check with me.  We are not uploading some of the Pikachu variants yet, for instance, without knowing what the game will call them. Mega Shinies you should be able to upload, and some of them were uploaded after my main batch (this includes some Pikachu forms), so check the special stages page for all of those from some of the special Safaris, and shinies elsewhere in the list.  CycloneGU (talk) 20:15, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
::::::Got it. Rename the files I have so that it matches the ones uploaded here. It will then replace the existing files when I upload the new versions. Just like this? I just want to make sure I'm not making any mistakes here. If I have done that correctly, then I'll continue on to replace all the existing files, and then check with you regarding the newer sprites. I'll see if I can finish this during the weekend. Sucoleo (talk) 21:24, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
:::::::Looks fine to me, and I already see the quality is much better. =D  CycloneGU (talk) 22:25, 7 April 2017 (UTC)
I have finally finished replacing all the existing sprites from Kanto to Alola! Whew, that definitely took a toll on me. I hope I didn't miss any, but I'll go double check after taking some rest. The only ones remaining should be ones that are not yet uploaded. Sucoleo (talk) 23:32, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
:Nice! I'm actually going through deleting files from my ZIP right now, so if something was missed, I'll find it. I thought you missed 556, because I got no alert, but it seems Abcboy uploaded that one.  CycloneGU (talk) 00:30, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
::It's a bit late since we're nearing the end of this task, but I just wanted to let you know that tsukimechii has replied. I have already let them know that I'm passing on their reply. They seem like a very humble and kind person. They're happy that their work is used here, and I'm really grateful to them for their work too! Sucoleo (talk) 02:03, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
Shuffle Mega Pokémon sprites
Sorry to bother you but just informing you that these images need to create a redirect for them as well. Gengar (Spooky), Sableye (Spooky), Mewtwo X and Y (Shiny), Tyranitar (Shiny) and Audino (Winking). These are the ones that appear as redlink in the Bulbapedia Pokémon species page "Side game data" section. They are all Mega Evolved sprites. Thanks. — Ruixiang95 (talk) 10:20, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
:Not a bother at all! Just to clarify, the images exist, but the redirects are needed because of how the template works?  CycloneGU (talk) 01:52, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
Shuffle Pikachu Celebration Icons
I noticed on Sucoleo's talk page that you said you should be contacted when more of the Celebration Pikachu icons have made it into Shuffle and you would upload the images at that time. Since then, it's been figured out that these icons are actually based on the Celebrations plush line, and though the game just calls all of the forms "Celebration", I think it would be better if the file names reflected the plush names (which is also how most Shuffle resources differentiate them).
If doing it that way is fine with you, the currently uploaded icons that should be changed are Shuffle025Celebration to Shuffle025BeachWalk and CostumeEntei to LionDancer (I can fix the few pages where the former is used on the 'Pedia). The other ones that need to be uploaded are PastryChef (Chef's hat), Artist (Red beret+paintbrush), MushroomHarvest (black hood), YearsEnd (holding Darumaka), Intern (Glasses),  ChildrensDay (pointy blue hat), RainySeason (yellow hood), SummerFestival (red/white bandana), Kotatsu (asleep under a 'table'), and Graduate (Graduate's cap :P). Sorry if you no longer want to do this work, but thought I'd let you know anyway! VioletPumpkin (talk) 19:38, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
:Thanks for the tip!  I looked up the actual collection page here and, except for the intern (which I found separately using "Pikachu celebration glasses" on Google), all in the game and more are on the page (your link included some costumed Pikachu on page 7, I believe, which are also in Shuffle), so I would not be surprised to see the Berry picker and others make a later appearance. I've contacted someone from senior staff regarding renaming what's there as I don't have the power to do so at Archives, so I'll see if we can get the renames completed now that I've identified all of the sprites in my own folders. Great find, thanks for sharing that!  CycloneGU (talk) 20:28, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
Remaining Shuffle Pikachu Sprites
Hey there, looks like it's time for another round of these. Two of the remaining 'emote' Pikachu icons that we haven't uploaded here have been released - Fired Up and Surprised. Additionally, it appears that there are three more that haven't been made available yet but aren't uploaded here, and it seems that their placeholder form names are Dejected, Disappointed, and Teary. Since Fired Up and Surprised kept their placeholder names, I think it would probably be better to go ahead and upload them all now to avoid having no icon images again in the future. I'll let you know if any of the remaining three need to be changed! VioletPumpkin (talk) 21:17, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
:Let me check what's missing on the List page shortly and I'll see if I can match them from the archive (I'm aware of the two in the Safari as well, caught them already). I was smart this time and kept a copy of them untouched, and imagine when the new ones show up someone will create PNG rips of them. Of course, let me know if you ever see that yourself so I can make sure it's usable.  CycloneGU (talk) 21:19, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
::Will do, and thanks for uploading them! VioletPumpkin (talk) 21:37, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
:::After checking in a Shuffle chat I'm in (semi-related to the Reddit you could say), it seems people there are confident that they know the three, so I have uploaded them as noted. They should be fine, but let me know if they don't match when they are released.  CycloneGU (talk) 21:41, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
