Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, TokoyamiTheDark!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous
  • Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
  • Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
  • Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
  • When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
  • Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
  • Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbapedia Archives.
  • In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive.
  • Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
  • If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

The artworks

They look awesome. Just make sure you find a place on the wiki to use them. MaverickNate 14:25, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Do you have a plan for them? MaverickNate 14:31, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Midori Harada: This place is for images only. The wiki is where actual content goes. MaverickNate 14:35, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
You picked, "Pokémon TCG Artwork (non-card)" right? The TCG fair use images category is the one we have for that option. MaverickNate 15:01, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Actually, you are able to do it. If you upload any more, all you have to do is put [[Category:Midori Harada artwork]] into the summary box before you upload it. MaverickNate 15:18, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Your scans

Are much too dark. The images are for the artwork, and the sheer amount of darkness your scans have...makes them so you can barely see the artwork. Can you try to scan them so they aren't so dark and dull? I would like to use your scans, but if they aren't better than what we already have, I'd prefer not to. MaverickNate 19:03, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

No biggie. Just, don't be upset if we prefer the scans we already have compared to what you give us. We go for quality of the artwork, and sometimes, yours are just too dark. MaverickNate 17:24, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi

Please read the checklist when you upload media files, and be sure to tag and categorize all images. If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide. --ht14 21:48, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

I realize the statement I wrote was a duplicate, but PLEASE categorize. Thanks. This may help. There's a TCG deck for all of them, I believe. There are also Pokémon categories. ht14 01:02, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Okay

Your scans are fantastic, but, when the images are already at the standard name, i.e. File:Latias3POPSeries7.png, those typically are already decided on the ones we want. If they aren't in their standard name, go right ahead and replace them, (especially the ones with numbers in the name, like File:006017 P HIKOZARU.jpg) but, if they are in their standard file name, I'd like you to wait off on adding them to the pages until we decide on which one is better, and tell me that you have a different scan of card "***". Could you do that?

When we move them to the standard names, it typically means the scan is good as is, and it is unlikely to be replaced. If you could, try to focus on replacing the small Japanese images we have, please. The over 1000 numbered files can be found here. That is our biggest concern for card images as of yet. MaverickNate 18:05, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Ok

Two things: first off, set the TCG cards to the standard as shown by Mav: File:<Pokémon name><expansion name><number of card from expansion>.jpg. Second, you have failed to comply with the categorizing of the cards you uploaded. While those cards are great and all, you did not listen to what I have said to you twice. I will block you if you don't listen. This is your final warning. ht14 02:53, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Mistakes were corrected, I was apologised, and it's like if nothing happened. TokoyamiTheDark 03:20, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh right

You're not allowed to remove stuff from your talk page... it's kinda a rule around here... it's for referencing. ht14 03:08, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

I had 2 or 3 duplicate messages, so I thought somebody was SPAMming my talk page. Now I know I should not remove them. TokoyamiTheDark 03:21, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

You're fine

Just press on. You aren't in trouble, just keep going MaverickNate 03:17, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Can you please upload your wonderful scans of the Latios and Latias from the L-P Promos? Pretty please?!? MaverickNate 03:26, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Sugimori art

How are you cropping? It seems that you're using a selection tool, which doesn't look appealing. Try using a "magic wand" of sorts.--immewnitythemew 16:34, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

I always use the magic wand to select the area to make transparent. However, MyPhotoCropper 'resets' the transparency on an image. The spot(s) who were to be transparent then becomes white. However I have succeded at cropping my images successfully while keeping the transparency using PhotoShop. Great Job at repairing my original images! I'll fully credit you for my next update in a few hours on my website! TokoyamiTheDark 21:22, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
