: Last I was told, the trainer OD sprites are given generational parameters (i.e. IV, DPPt) only if there is a more up-to-date version in a new generation. Since there is no Cameraman or Interviewer class in Generation IV, the files in question do not need to be updated.

==Upload over a redirect==

Hey Chosen, I have a question. So, there are some B2W2 sprites that are different from their BW counterparts and currently exist as a redirect pointing to the BW sprite. An example of this would be the Unova starters and all of their evolutions. My question is how do you upload an image over a redirect? My guess is delete the redirect code from the page and it would allow a file to be uploaded, but I don't want to try that and mess something up. The redirects that need to be deleted (from the Gen V Pokemon) are Spr_5b2_496, Spr_5b2_497, Spr_5b2_498, Spr_5b2_499, Spr_5b2_500, Spr_5b2_502, and Spr_5b2_503. #The LGPE sprites are currently being discussed with staff; it was decided we would wait to see if Sword and Shield continues the use of these updated sprites, and it appears they will. That being said, not every sprite will be updated, but all sprites will likely need to change to a new standard size, given that [[:File:809MS.png|Melmeltan's sprite]] is 52x52 as opposed to the previous standard, 40x40. If HOME, in particular, uses the same style of sprites, we may need to wait until HOME releases to update existing sprites.

#In {{bp|List of game characters}}, we generally use artwork for characters introduced from X and Y and beyond due to the general lack of available 3D models we had at the time. Indeed, we're still missing [[:Category:Overworld Trainer sprites|overworld models]] for a large majority of nominal Generation VI characters.

#Galar is supported for game locations in Sword and Shield. For New series anime locations, use "New", since the template's usage for anime goes by series and the new series doesn't exclusively take place in Galar.
