:Alphanumeric characters means A-Z, a-z, and 0-9. The "{{wp|hyphen-minus}}" (often called a dash, "-" ) and underscores (the software's replacement for spaces "_" ) are also fine to use. Exclamation marks are URL safe, but keep them out of the file names for new images for the time being.
