Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Darkgame9!
Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png

Thank you for joining our community! By creating your account you are now able to upload images to support Bulbapedia and Bulbagarden's other projects. This is a brief introduction to the Archives rules and resources to help you get started:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload.
    • There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit!
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are not allowed. Any personal images found will be promptly removed.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or feel free to ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Image titles

When uploading new images, can you make sure the titles are short but to the point as a few of your recent images have been renamed.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 13:53, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Also, don't forget to add an appropriate summary, licensing, and categories when you upload, as per the Manual of style and this guide. If you are unsure, it's a good idea to have a look at similar images on the site and see how they've been licensed and categorised. --Thespeon196 (talk) 14:18, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
Just want to remind you about what Thespeon196 said above, please take this into account with future images.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 23:40, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
Once again, a kind reminder to use proper titles, summaries, licenses, and categories when uploading new images. A trick is to look up a similar image, and then add similar categories and license tags. If you have any doubts, feel free to ask any Staff member. Thanks! → SuperPikaPool13 21:54, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
When it comes to posting things like Anime Sheets, these are what we call concept art so instead of Anime Sheet, could you put concept art in the title with the series at the start.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 23:05, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
Please proofread the titles of the images you upload before uploading them. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:20, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Messages

I'm not sure if you haven't seen any of the messages we've left you or you are just ignoring them, whilst we appreciate the images you are uploading, we're trying to help you find the right way to upload images. Please read these messages and follow our requests, we are only trying to make editing Bulbapedia so much easier.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 19:10, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Terra Orb

When adding titles, please check your spelling, it is not Tera Orb Terra Orb--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 21:30, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Captain Pikachu

Hey, I'm curious, how / where have you found so many unique images of Captain Pikachu all at once? It would be useful info to have the sources when the images get catalogued. --Thespeon196 (talk) 13:20, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

Your Recent Uploads

Hi, while we appreciate you adding so many images for the wiki, we have noticed that you have not followed the Manual of Style for image titles as well as summaries, licensing and categories, even after multiple reminders by various staff member. Please look at how the summaries were added to the images you uploaded and use similar summaries for future uploads. If your behavior continues, it might result in a block or loss of your uploading privileges. Kindly let us know that you have read our messages by replying to this conversation. If you have any other doubts, feel free to contact any staff member. Thank you. → SuperPikaPool13

Hi there

So, it seems we've been struggling to reach you, so I've issued a short block just as a pause so we can talk. I appreciate your passion and dedication to uploading images for use on Bulbapedia. However, your uploads continue to not follow the manual of style, and as a result, other hardworking users like you have been putting in extra work to bring uploads and file pages to standard. Please understand that these expectations exist so that visitors and editors can have a consistent and user-friendly experience using the site. Following the established conventions really helps a lot so that we can focus on working together to make the Bulbawiki as good as it can be.

Please let us know if there's anything you need help understanding how to do, or any way we can show you the ropes so you can continue doing not just good work but great work! We'd really appreciate being able to establish a dialogue so we can communicate, reach some understanding, and begin collaborating. I think you could be a real asset to the Archives, and would love to hear from you soon. If wiki talk pages are something of a barrier for you, we'd also be happy to chat with you over at the Bulbagarden Discord server where there are dedicated wiki and Archives text channels filled with friendly folk who are eager to help. Looking forward to working with you! Landfish7 05:44, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

Image resolution sizes

As stated on the Main Page, the maximum image resolution permitted to be freely uploaded is 1920×1920. This is to protect the website against copyright claims. If you have an image that exceeds that size, you are expected to partner with a member of Archives:Staff and gain approval before uploaded such an image. Unfortunately, several of your recent uploads have exceeded the allowed image resolution size. Now, I have reason to believe that you haven't gotten in touch with any staff members, given the discussions listed above this section. If you continue to upload images that break the rules--without partnering with a staff member first--I will have no choice but to revoke your uploading privileges. Please respond to any of the messages that staff have left for you on your talk page. MaverickNate 14:15, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

Image quality

As a basic guideline, we don't want artwork that is heavily edited. I have deleted the recent images for Ryme, Grusha, and Dot that had large holes in the artwork. MaverickNate 00:33, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

While we appreciate the effort, heavily edited artwork is not something we want. Please stop uploading those artworks of Ryme, Grusha, and Dot. MaverickNate 05:44, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

Image sources and Categories

Hi, I appreciate your effort yesterday in adding to the Summary of the images you have uploaded.

There are a couple of things you could do to improve your uploads even further:

  • Always add the source of your artwork. A link to the webpage or twitter account where you found the image would be ideal, as all artwork should be sourced.
  • Add categories to the image. It can be done as you upload. Add a separate category for each character you see in the image.

For example, say you are uploading an artwork of Liko with Terapagos. When you upload using Special:Upload, before you press "Upload file" at the bottom of the page, the whole page should look something like:

Destination filename: Liko Terapagos artwork.png
Summary: Artwork of Liko and Terapagos from Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Source:https-twitter-account-here

[[Category:Liko]]
[[Category:Terapagos]]

Licensing: General Pokémon anime artwork

It might seem a bit daunting at first (it was for me too), but you will quickly get used to it, and it will make you a great uploader!

If you have any questions or concerns, you can always contact me on my talk page, or any other staff member. --Thespeon196 (talk) 14:24, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
