Bulbagarden Archives logo.png
Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, SuiScorpio!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous
  • Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
  • Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
  • Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
  • When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
  • Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
  • Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbapedia Archives.
  • In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive.
  • Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
  • If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Hi

Please read the checklist when you upload media files, and be sure to tag and categorize all images. If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide. --MaverickNate 02:38, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Also, did you get explicit permission from TTEchidna? MaverickNate 02:38, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Instead of just adding the summary and licensing, replace whats already on the page, please. MaverickNate 02:54, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't understand SuiScorpio 02:56, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
When you are editing the page, there is "HGSS Sprite" written on the page already. That needs to go and get out of there. the first thing should be the summary, understand now? And good job, by the way. MaverickNate 03:00, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Oh, Right, thanks a lot. I'm new and freaking out. I missed that note about the explicit permission. I'll fix the ones I've already uploaded and then not do any more? SuiScorpio 03:06, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
You've proven yourself worthy. You're much better than most of the people already on here. Just keep up fixing any you see that are incorrect, and you are more than welcome to keep uploading them once you fix the rest. When you upload them, all you need to do it put the {{gamesprite|blah blah|more stuff|some more things|even more}} into the summary box on the upload screen, and choose Sprite from a Pokémon game in the licensing pull down before you upload. That will make it so you don't have to add it in once it's already uploaded. By the way, fantastic job! Keep it up! ;) MaverickNate 03:11, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
When you add them to the summary box, it automatically puts "summary" in for you. Only the template is needed. MaverickNate 04:03, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
How convenient :) thanks SuiScorpio 04:10, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey

May I ask where you are getting those artworks for Red and Green? They quality is superb! Thanks. Jellotalk 01:40, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey, can't remember sorry, got them ages ago from some fan site. They're nice right! can't beat oldschool SuiScorpio 01:50, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
It's alright, thanks for uploading them though! Jellotalk 01:59, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
My pleasure SuiScorpio 02:08, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

Anime art

It's not from the original series. The Kanto ones are from AG, the Johto ones are from the Johto saga of the original series, Hoenn is from AG, and Sinnoh is from DP.--immewnitythemew 02:21, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Great, I'll make that change. I was hoping someone would clear that up as I was unsure. Thanks! SuiScorpio 02:24, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Oops

Sorry forgot about the image size restriction, got a bit excited. Feel free to revert and block me if you'd like SuiScorpio 09:46, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Anime art

Hey SS, the anime art pics that you uploaded a month ago are in superb quality but there is a GIGANTIC problem with each and every single pic and that problem is "they are NOT TRANSPARENT". Please try to upload transparent images in the future, otherwise we have to edit those pics again and make them transparent and THEN we have to reupload them (just like I'm doing it now). Please take care of this thing in the future. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 19:01, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

I don't think there it one.—★Pika3323 23:51, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi, yea, the red and green character one works fine for now. SuiScorpio 23:53, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Anime Screenshots

Ahem...Just to let you know, all anime screenshots must be in the png format. Also, your files were kind of small and hard to see...just where did you get those? Ataro 04:41, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
