Thank you, and have a good time uploading here! Pokemaster97 00:40, 3 June 2011 (UTC) |
Regarding welcoming
Got scared for a moment? It's really nothing major, but just before you continue, I noticed that you welcomed users relatively often on Bulbapedia; in the Archives, we only welcome those that actually uploaded something. Just thought I'd like to let you know. Cheers, and welcome aboard. ht14 00:46, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- Whew I thought I did something wrong already. I just put this on mine so I could have a reference for when I eventually upload images and such. Sorry XD. Pokemaster97 00:57, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Templates
Just like in Bulbpaedia, we do have {{p}}
and many other similar templates, just thought I'd let you know that. ht14 20:24, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. I don't frequent the archives as much as I do on Bulbapedia so I'm sorry for any mistakes (or fails I make). Thanks for letting me know about the templates, I'll keep it in mind. --Pokemaster97 20:27, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. I'm just saying that the templates on Bulbapedia are basically the same here, albeit only a few on Bulbapedia are not used in the Archives. For more templates, see here. ht14 20:32, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, one more thing. When you finish moving a file, if it was requested, don't forget to remove the move template from the summary. Thanks. ht14 22:19, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
- Must have forgot, sorry about that. --Pokemaster97 22:21, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

Ash's Pikachu
Oh, give me a break. It's not lower quality, only his foot and part of his ear is cut off, and it's just plain cooler. But if its that important that it stay so uncool, have it your way. I am Mikoro (wanna talk?) 23:46, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
- Please go back and look at your image then look at the one I reverted to. The old one is far more crisp and clear than the one you uploaded. Also, cooler doesn't always mean better. We desire to have full body pictures for the infobox pictures of trainers Pokemon. Instead of edit warring with everyone who reverts you, you should make use of the talk pages. --Pokemaster97 00:00, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- I'm further ahead of you than the apocalypse. I try using the talk pages all the time, but almost no one ever responds to the messages I send. Plus, lots of other images display Pokémon that have only parts of their body cut off. So is it really that much of a matter? I am Mikoro (wanna talk?) 00:24, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Most of the images that have parts cut off is because there's isn't a better full body image to use. Why replace a perfectly good full body picture of Pikachu with one that has parts cut off? --Pokemaster97 00:54, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- 1. Because it's more recent.
- 2. Because it looks better.
- 3. Because it being better and newer with a little bit cut off is worth way more than it being worse and older with nothing cut off.
- 4. Because Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokémon series, and it should have an image with an enhancing background.
- 5. Because he's actually facing the screen.
- 6. Because it's more appealing.
- 7. Because he's actually just now being chosen to battle rather than briefly being talked to before being chosen to battle.
- 8. Because his pose better matches his personality.
- 9. Because he's being sent out against a Pokémon that he actually beats rather than one that he simply ties with.
- 10. Because he's up against a Pokémon from the corresponding region rather than one from a previous region.
- 11. Because was chosen due to his type-advantage against his opponent rather than as a mere trump card.
- 12. Because being closer to one of his region debut's makes more sense than being exactly in one of his region finale's. Alright, I've given you a whopping twelve reasons why the image I uploaded is better. Now please reconsider. I am Mikoro (wanna talk?) 02:04, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- I think I'll hop in here. The file you tried to upload over the Ash's Pikachu file is not better than the existing file:
- Newer doesn't make a file better, properly displaying the Pokémon is always what matters.
- With that said, your file does not look better, it cuts off more than the existing file and it's much blurrier.
- #1 and #2 sum up everything in response to your third reason.
- The background is not an important feature of the image, the file is meant to be about the Pokémon. The background of your file doesn't help make the file more about Pikachu.
- Just because Pikachu is facing the screen does not make it better. In this case, it just causes more of him to be cut off.
- That is a personal opinion, and we do not share it.
- Being chosen for battle does not matter. Again, it's about properly displaying the Pokémon.
- The pose does nothing of the sort. If anything, it detracts from Pikachu's personality.
- Like #7, that doesn't matter in the slightest.
- Once again, like #7, that doesn't matter.
- And, for the last time, just like #7, that does not matter.
- Like I mentioned for #1, being newer does not make a file better. Pikachu's design has not changed since the switch from SD to HD, unlike the many changes that happened during the SD era.
- Now, Mikoro, please drop this. The file will not be changed, and from now on, it requires administrative approval to be modified. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 02:51, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Fine, have it your way. But just know that you are overreacting. My image is not MUCH blurrier. Also, the pose does better signify Pikachu's personality. If anything, the current one is just demeaning, because it makes Pikachu look like some kind of punk. But this is not my decision to make, so I'll just leave the decision making to you. New Pokémon categories
In order for those to be created, do they require staff approval first? Pattyman (talk) 18:14, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
- Kogoro says the categories can be created by anyone as long as there's an image under the category already. --Pokemaster97 18:22, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Nacrene City Spring Image
I found a very much higher quality version of the Nacrene City map Spring version to replace the one who is placed there. Problem is the image can't be replaced (or at least I can't replace it) so I can't upload it properly (with correct name, description, etc etc). How should I tackle this problem? Thanks in advance. EtherealAether (talk) 17:25, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- Is this the image you were referring to? Hmm, it doesn't seem to be protected. Did you try to upload it using the Upload manager? --Pokemaster97 19:58, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- Or cite the FAQ:
- Why can't I upload over this file?
- To upload over an existing file, you must first become autoconfirmed. [...]
Upload fails
Hello Pokemaster97, I'm quite new on Bulbapedia, but I have got Pokemon Silver on my computer and I wanted to upload some overworld sprites of trainers. I've tried that, But it said I didn't have the permission to create new pages. How do I get this permission? TeudowEthan (talk) 19:30, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- It sounds like your account hasn't been autoconfirmed yet. You have to make a certain amount of edits before you can have access to privileges such as creating pages. I think what may have happened is that you tried to manually create a page instead of using the Upload manager feature. Try to upload the sprites that way. Please let me know if you continue to have issues. --Pokemaster97 19:40, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for creating my talk page. One problem: It says there that I can now upload files, and I still can't. I thought I did use the Upload manager last time, and I also did now. It kept saying: You do not have permission to create new pages. Do you also need to have made that edits to upload files? TeudowEthan (talk) 09:48, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- That's strange, you should be able to upload files without the autoconfirmed requirement. I'm going to redirect you to Kogoro to see if she can help you more with the issue, since she's more knowledgeable with the Archives than I am. --Pokemaster97 14:40, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

I'm also unable to upload files. I found a better image of Mega Kangaskhan on the Official Nintendo Magazine Site, but can't upload it. Yamitora1 (talk) 14:50, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
I am still unable to edit/upload the image. It says I do not have permission to overwrite it, or that I cannot create a new page. Also, thank you for the welcome page.Yamitora1 (talk) 15:24, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
