Always use lowercase extension. This means "png" instead of "PNG". Uppercase only causes problems. Maverick Nate 21:16, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Okay.

First, please sign. Second, it is spelled "Hoenn"--Mew a.k.a. Prmatt11 18:11, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

I already knew that rule. So don't remind me thousand times.Every person send me the same message.I have made a mistake once and in future i will try to do my effort without making the same mistake. So please if you don't mind then don't remind me that same thing thousand times. --Adyniz 14:28, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Categories = Important

Always put them onto new images you upload, as you upload them. If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide. — THE TROM — 06:28, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Sorry but i don't get it. Please explain it in details. --Adyniz 06:30, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Okay now i get it. Thnx for helping me buddy. I have a question. I have uploaded a new image of Ash's Staraptor using Aerial Ace.Everything is fine but i don't no why when i open the article then the image's thumbnail was gone. Please can you help me? --Adyniz 06:39, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Summaries

Every image needs a summary describing what is going on in the image. That's the whole reason for the Summary text box on the upload screen. Maverick Nate 15:33, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Long time ago, when i used to add images then an administrator told me to write category in the summary box and now you are saying this. So what should i do? Shall i mention both things? --Adyniz 15:30, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Recently, i have uploaded a new image for "pokedex" article. Check it out and tell me is there any mistake in the summary box now? --Adyniz 15:35, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Well you do need to spell correctly, but yes you do put the summary and the category in the same box. —darklordtrom 20:52, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Okay, thank you very much. --Adyniz 04:41, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Yo

Thanks for getting better images. However, when you do replace the old ones, mark them with {{delete}} so we know that they are ready to be destroyed. We don't like having low-quality images lurking around here, especially if they aren't being used. —darklordtrom 11:34, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Its my pleasure buddy. But please tell me one thing where to put that delete template. Can you explain me in a little bit detail, if you don't mind? --Adyniz 15:54, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Go to the old image's page. Click "edit". Write {{delete}} anywhere before the license ({{i-Fairuse}} etc). Then leave it for one of us to find. —darklordtrom 21:29, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I got it. Thanks alot. --Adyniz 07:12, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Also, not every character has a category. Please try to put Category:Characters of the day instead of all the other names you have been putting. All important characters each have one of their own, but anime characters are lumped together. Maverick Nate 18:53, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, i didn't know that. --Adyniz 07:18, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

One more question, what category should i put in the episode images? I mean, if i upload an image as an episode's main pic then which category should i write. --Adyniz 07:25, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

If you see a Pokémon or character, put that in a category. In addition, head images need to have the template {{I-Fairuse-anime-head-Epicode|Title|Number}}. That can be put in the upload summary box, too. —darklordtrom 10:40, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Okay, but what do you mean by head images? Secondly, i have to write episode number in Epicode box, what should i write in Title and number box? I am extremely sorry for bothering you all the time. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 12:15, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Epicode here meaning EP, H, AG, DP, etc. Number meaning 001, 100, 349, etc. Title meaning the title of the episode. A head image is one that is used on the infobox of the Bulbapedia article. It's called the head image because it's at the head of the article. —darklordtrom 22:37, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks buddy, you are great. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 12:20, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Pokémon Categories

The only specific Pokémon that have categories are Category:Ash's Pikachu, and Category:Meowth (Team Rocket). The rest are put in the overall ones, such as Category:Carnivine. Maverick Nate 17:40, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, thanks for the info. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 17:54, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Don't put in the colon when you want to actually use the category. Only put in the ":" when you want to link to that page without putting it into the category. So, you should be putting [[Category:Characters of the day]] onto pages, not with the :. Maverick Nate 17:30, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Ok. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 18:09, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Category:Dawn (anime), Category:Ribbons. Maverick Nate 17:29, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh man, n a single week i made a bundle of mistakes. What should i do now? I will try to remember that category thing. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 17:32, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Don't worry about mistakes. They are easily fixed and they aren't a problem. The biggest thing you can do is learn from them, and don't make the same one twice. That's when people will begin to see you as a hassle. Now, all you are is someone learning how to do. That isn't a big deal, so don't worry. Maverick Nate 17:41, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 17:44, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

You forgot :(darklordtrom 20:54, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I am sorry again. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 04:08, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

That's all fine. Another category you can use is Category:Moves (anime). Put it on images of moves in the anime. —darklordtrom 06:40, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, Thanks. But i want to ask a question that if there are multi characters in the image then what category should i choose? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:42, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Categorise for all of them. If there are fifty million people use Category:Large group images. —darklordtrom 06:50, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 06:51, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Linking

You can't link to Bulbapedia articles here using square brackets. You have to use a link template, template:bp. Simply write {{bp|foo}} and that will send you to the Bulbapedia article "foo". Not that there is one, but you get the point. —darklordtrom 12:02, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Can you explain it in a little bit detail? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 12:04, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Here, we use {{bp}} to link to Bulbapedia articles. {{bp|Ash Ketchum}} instead of just [[Ash Ketchum]]. Get it? Thanks, Kevzo8 13:47, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
So, i should put both [Category:...] as well as {{bp:name of the article}} in the summary box. Am i right? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 04:36, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
You need to provide a description of what the image is. Linking to Bulbapedia can help with that. —darklordtrom 07:31, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Images

Please do not take images from other site. Stealing images from other sites is against our rules as well as the other sites. It is worthy of getting blocked for stealing. So please do not steal images from other sites again. Thank you, --☆Coolピカチュウ! 08:05, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

That includes PokéWiki and Pokémon Safari, too. Just clarifying.--Mew a.k.a. Immewnity 11:06, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
I have not stolen it from anyone mister. I am an uploader and i uploaded the episode (on youtube) by recording it and i also take those preview snapshots from my own recorded video. This is not fair, i worked so hard in recording it and you guys are just blaming me. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 15:06, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Then why is the picture a carbon copy of it? Because when I copy & pasted the one the you uploaded and saved it from the web, it gave it the exact same byte-size as the one you may of gotten from. --☆Coolピカチュウ! 04:29, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
That is not my problem. You don't have any right to blame me without any proof. First of all, this picture is not available anywhere (OK) and secondly i snapped it from my recorded preview. So, what is the problem? Do you have any proof that i have stolen it? Is there any tag on the picture? NO. I know that you are an administrator but that doesn't mean that you will block me without any proof or reason. Again, i am saying that i have not stolen it. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 04:42, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
You are right, I can not block for any random reson. But, can you please get a different screenshot from the preview then. Since another site has a similar picture to yours so reupload a different one. --☆Coolピカチュウ! 04:46, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Okay, i will try to upload any other screenshot. Thanks for listening me. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 04:49, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Anime headers

For episode images headers such as File:DP147.png, use this summary template: {{i-Fairuse-anime-head-<Epicode>|<Epicode&Ep. No./Dub title>|<Ep. No>}}. For example, {{i-Fairuse-anime-head-DP|DP147|147}} Thanks, Kevzo8 11:27, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry dude, i always used to forget it. But i will try to remember it now and thanks a lot for reminding me. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 13:54, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Reverting of image DP161.png

Do not revert it again. This decision was made in a chat of admins, and as per the image reversion policy, you need the permission of said admin to do this. AiedailEclipsed 02:22, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Okay, but you have mentioned the reason to undo it. It was totally fine and matched to the title, what's wrong with it? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 03:36, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
I mean to say that you should have mentioned the reason for UNDOing it. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 03:38, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Aie has the authority to revert any image reversions, but he might have forgotten what edit summaries are for. In that case, you should have talk page him before reverting it again. Personally though, the present image is bigger and cuter, unlike those plain expressions from Buneary and Piplup, plus the tiny Dawn. Sorry.. Kevzo8 03:48, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, about snapping, its just I've been sick since this morning and yeah. And I purposely left the edit summary off, to explain to you via talk page and answer any questions, plus the summary would have been huge. AiedailEclipsed 04:25, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh, no problem. I can totally understand. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 10:45, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Image request

Can you upload File:EP022.png without spoilers? ht14 20:50, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Ya sure. --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 02:29, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Check it out File:EP022.png. Is it ok? --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 02:31, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
The one I uploaded is better. Adyniz, next time please try to find a larger pic. The one you uploaded looked bad even on the header. Stay... uptight. --Hmdwgf 03:41, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Hmdwgf, can you do it then? ht14 03:47, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
I just did... --Hmdwgf 04:10, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
No, no. Without spoilers. I could've easily reverted it... ht14 04:11, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Yes, Ht. Without spoilers. I uploaded one. Didn't you see it at recent uploads? I uploaded a pic that comes from the same shot Adyniz's pic came from, almost the exact same pic albeit a slight difference and the image size and quality of course. --Hmdwgf 04:14, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Ahh. I didn't refresh it... XD. ht14 04:34, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
XD. --Hmdwgf 06:02, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
@Hmd: Isn't it exact the same size as mine one (as a header, not talking about resolution)? Both are looking quite similar and have the similar angle as well. Isn't it?
One more thing, the headers on a lot of the episodes have SAME SIZE + SAME RESOLUTION as the one that I uploaded then whats wrong with that? I am talking about headers of the EP series. Then?
Anyway, I will try to upload better pics in the future. But I need one explanation from you HMDWGF, remember when I uploaded a super small pic from TV Tokyo for bulbanews purpose then you told me that I should never upload small images like that one. But Tc26 is continuously uploading the same SUPER SMALL pics from TV Tokyo site when a new episode is revealed then why didn't you tried to stop him? I am not being rude but I need this explanation because this thing is bugging me from few weeks. --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 09:55, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
Um... clearly not. It's the same pic (albeit a small difference), but the pic you uploaded was 200x150 and the pic I uploaded is 640x480. Mine is more than 3 times wider, taller and higher quality. Pics that are as small as 200x150 look bad even on headers. Just go take a look at the pics for the Indigo Conference episodes. Maybe I'll go replace those myself. Anyway, those super small pics are for Bulbanews only, and I suppose there is nothing you can do considering it's a screenshot that TV Tokyo put on their website and the episode hasn't even previewed yet, so I guess it's fine. And I didn't know that Tc26 was uploading those small pics. And even if I did know he was doing that, I would have asked him why he was doing that, but Tc is an admin in the Archives and at Bulbanews, so I figured he probably knew what he was doing. I should have figured out the small pics thing earlier. It's a mistake on my part. Those are being used for Bulbanews only. And no, you should never ever upload images that small for Bulbapedia use. And don't ask why, I just explained it to you. Unless it's for personal use. --Hmdwgf 22:34, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
High resolution thing; Got it :)
BulbaNews small pics; don't worry, I will upload those small pics but only for bulbanews purpose not bulbapedia just like tc.
Thanks a lot for the explanation. --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 01:05, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
You bet. --Hmdwgf 04:03, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Hey

User:Immewnity/AllSugimori, this should help you with your process of making images transparent. They're up a against a black background, which shows you if you've done a good job or not. Hope that helps. --JelloTalk 04:40, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Ok. --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 09:44, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Not needing to alarm you but...

Those scans have already been revealed as fake. --Force Fire 08:39, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

When? Look, I didn't know that. Most of the serebiians are also saying the same thing. If I would have known that I would have never informed anybody (Bulba + Serebii). One more thing, I got it from a site so I thought it was real. But I guess I was wrong and was idiot to believe on that site. I'll take care of this thing next time and I informed you guys because I was so excited about new Pokés. I'm sorry again. --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 08:44, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Dawn contest

Since the list of clothing in the anime page says about Dawn customizing her contest dress, maybe we can just post the pictures of the variety of of her dress there. If you think that's a terrible idea, I'm okay w/ that, and delete the pics if they're taking too much space --Renzo493 10:26, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Random comment

I would hardly call 342×192 HD. XD File:Zoey_Grand_Festival.png. Just saying :D.

Hey

Where'd you get the screenshots of DP174 from? They look suspiciously like Serebii's... ht14 21:35, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Like serebii's (grr...)? I never ever steal anything from other sites (if I do then I always mention the credit). I took it from our filb (as usual :P, you can easily guess that by looking at the resolution). Don't worry bud, I'll never do anything stupid which can cause trouble for my beloved bulba. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 03:10, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Not to mention, serebii is not the one who uploads screenshots. It's filb who originally uploads them and then serebii/others sites use them. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 03:14, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Still, like I said to Renzo, give credit where it's due. That's all. Either that, or don't upload them at all... ht14 20:15, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Ok, hang on. Bulbapedia itself says that checkout filb for further screenshots on every episode article. Can you tell where should I mention filb's name on images? Tc26 (the archives administrator himself) is using filb's screenshots from years, no body said him a single word about mentioning credits (no offense tc, just trying to justify my edits). ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:01, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
TC got them from there? Hmm... just put it on the summary: Credit goes to Filb.de, or something of the sort. ht14 19:05, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Yup, he got it from there. Well, I think it will be better if there is a seperate license template thingy for it. What do you think? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 19:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
That'd be the equivalent to making a license for Serebii... maybe... nope, I don't like it though... ht14 19:37, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. But it will look really weird, that filb.de thingy in summary. I mean Tc26 or anybody else never mentioned any kind of credit in the summary. I know that other sites don't want their personal stuff to be shared but I don't think filb is in one of them. If we added that filb thingy in summary then we have to add it in every single image which is not a small number as we (me, Tc and most of users) are using filb's screenshots as our article images/headers etc from a long time. The number of images taken from filb is very much high. So, it's damn hard to edit each and every single image. Can't we have a kind of conference or discussion in which we can take a united decision? If not then I think at least admins should have a conference type of thing so that they can decide these things. What do you say? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 19:44, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
I'll talk to them. Just be patient. For now though, I'd prefer it if you use your own screenshots for use. Thanks. ht14 20:15, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Ya, sure I will. I will try to use my own screenshots until you guys decide. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 03:07, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Bulbagarden has a formal affiliation with Filb. I believe that as part of that, we are allowed to use their images and vice versa. I'll make a note to check with TTE/Nate. —darklordtrom 06:02, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Perfect. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 12:20, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Adyniz D:

You caught me at a really bad time since I was about to head to class! But please don't create categories for new Pokémon! The way I see it, we're only going to be using them for a few months and when the English version comes out, we'll be going with those. So we'll have a whole bunch of useless categories to delete. The romanizations are inconsistent as well, since they change depending on who complains about it. It's just too much of a hassle. Jellotalk 17:55, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I'll stop now. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:57, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Also, when you move images, it's common courtesy to change the filename used in Bulbapedia articles as well. Thanks. Jellotalk 20:23, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
I already did that. After moving images, I renamed them on bulbapedia as well (if they're being used there). Thanks for the help. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 21:41, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
One more thing, change the templates on here too please. D: Earlier today you renamed a file, Ashag.png, which was being used in the AG template and Jell deleted it which caused the template to break from both the moving and the deletion. So check here too in the future please~ Thank you~ --Psyライダー 21:49, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about that, it was my carelessness that I didn't check the templates. I'll try to remember this thing next time. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 21:54, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
In my mind, the é is fine in file names. Zhen Lin has said there is nothing wrong with using it. MaverickNate 17:51, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
I still remember that old discussion regarding server issues and this thing came in front. I don't remember the name of that user, but an admin said that é can cause the problem. Anyway, if you and Zhen Lin think so, then I guess é is fine. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 11:44, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Archaic keeps using it as a scape goat for server problems even though it has been proven not to cause any problems. MaverickNate 01:25, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh, Okay. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 10:54, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
One more itsy bitsy thing~ Because of server stress and whatnot, it takes a while for images to sync from the Archives to BP. The image does exist, however it doesn't show up because of the issues. Usually a good couple of hard refreshes, purges or even a dry edit should make the image appear. Thanks~ --Psyライダー 20:45, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
I usually try to refresh the image & make some simple dry edits but this time, nothing worked and server sync was taking forever. So, I thought moving it would be good idea but... Any who, it seems to be working fine now :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 20:49, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Personal error problems images

Uh yeah, the image you just uploaded isn't really one for the Archives. Next time, please use Photobucket or Tinypic or one of those image sites, thank you. --Psyライダー 05:57, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Got it, imageshack sounds perfect for this kind of stuff. Thanks ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:57, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

.jpg to .png

Saving a .jpg to a .png isn't really preferred here. It's better if you can get a better quality and save that as .png. Thanks. Jellotalk 16:39, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Sorry Jel, I know it was completely a noobish mistake. Usually, I take png screenshots from a 720p crystal clear video myself. But HD episodes take time in downloading so I had to use filb's screenshot till my downloading completes. That's why I just uploaded some needed pics, rest of them will upload later tonight in HD. Nevermind, I always try to take care this png-jpg stuff ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 16:48, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. Also, could you get screenshot of Ash's Isshu team? Someone uploaded a really crappy .jpg of that and it's being used in the article right now, so the faster we replace it, the better. Jellotalk 16:52, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah sure, I saw that pic. I'll reupload it soon in HD soon enough. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 16:57, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
One more thing, can you please keep an eye on this guy? He's kind of messing around with the pics. Thanks ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 17:00, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah don't worry about that. Both Psy and I always keep an eye on him. :/ Jellotalk 17:02, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Images

Do you know anywhere else I could get images? DoTheWave 05:44, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, you can take your own screen shots. Well, youtube is not preferred but you can take some screenshots from the episodes on youtube, if and only if they are in high quality. DVDs is also another way to get some crunchy screenshots etc. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 06:08, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Moving images

Make sure the extension is lowercase. So for instance, .png vs. .PNG. The former goes. ht14 04:42, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I thought it would be like changing jpg to png thing. But sure, I'll take care of that :) ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 04:44, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Is there any reason that they're ordered though? As in... why Regirock is last, etc. From a purely curious standpoint, does it matter if they're numbered or not? ht14 04:49, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
I thought it would be nice if we have stuff in a sequence so I renamed them. Is there something wrong with it? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 04:52, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Eh. There seems to be an implication that it's that order... I presume the Regis ones were special editions and whatnot, but (1) I'll have to check and (2) I'll ask. ht14 04:57, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Alright, this is from what I know from Nate. "Having them ordered doesn't seem like a bad idea, but I think that special ones should have in the name why they are special." So yeah. Find the special ones and fix it up such that it parallels that, and for the others, order them. ht14 05:00, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Got it. Just to be clear, those arrangements are according to this article. My apologies, if I messed it up. I'll try to find and fix it in the correct order soon. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 05:04, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
