Thank you, and have a good time uploading here! |
Because logging onto AIM would be far too silly
I see you've been fixing people's crappy uploads. If possible, could you get these higher-quality versions in png format, reupload to a new filename and tag the old one with delete? If the ones you are finding are in jpg already feel free to ignore this message; just that png is preferred and if we can get png, it would be good to have it. —darklordtrom 21:47, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- As silly as this sounds, nah...If I save them as File.png, it shows as a png, but it makes them unable to upload to the Archives. --PsychicRider 21:51, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- You need to upload to a new filename. png cannot replace a jpg image. —darklordtrom 21:54, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- I saved Oreburgh as Oreburgh as .png, but it told me "The file is corrupt or has an incorrect extension. Please check the file and upload again." ----PsychicRider 21:55, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Assuming you mean the Oceanic museum... I just got it as png. No idea what's wrong. —darklordtrom 22:03, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well I saved my own Oceanic Museum using all types when I was saving it, so it went to png automatically, but it still said above... D:. The only ones that work to upload, are JPEG...----PsychicRider 22:05, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Anime Images
Whenever uploading images of anime scenes, please upload them as PNG files. A JPEG file is typically of lesser quality than a PNG file and, as a result, just about everything outside of TCG scans are supposed to be PNGs.
Also, don't convert JPEGs to PNGs and expect them to pass. Doing such retains all of the JPEG qualities and serves to merely increase the size of a lower-quality file. Very rarely does such an image remain in usage for long before it gets replaced. Instead, whenever you want to upload an anime screenshot, save it directly as a PNG. It's not that hard, as many image editors support PNG these days, and even Paint in Windows 7 saves images in PNG by default. --Shiningpikablu252 18:27, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
