Welcome
Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Flare drive! As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous
- Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
- Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
- Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
- When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
- Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
- Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the
{{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbapedia Archives.
- In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive.
- Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
- If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.

Position of Generation II sprites
Hi, I've noticed that you've changed some of the Gen. II sprites to their in-game positions (displaying the Pokémon not centered, but at the bottom right). I don't think there are any official policies, but de facto, almost all sprites from Gen. II and up are centered, so the ones you uploaded stick out and don't look as good in Bulbapedia tables. I think we should just keep them centered; otherwise, we'd have to check almost every single sprite and, as I just said, they wouldn't have a consistent look. -- Socob ( Talk | Contribs ) 15:40, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
Categorize
Please categorize the images you upload. For example, move screenshots should be added to the category Moves (game) and to the categories of Pokémon seen in the image (e.g. Wigglytuff). UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 19:53, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- You can categorise your images in one foul sweep, by putting them in the summary box of the upload screen. It's also recommended you write a short summary of the image here too. Great work categorising so far though :) keep it up. —darklordtrom 10:19, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Good job on discovering the link templates! You can put them in the initial summary box too, if you like. —darklordtrom 12:57, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
HGSS images
When uploading HGSS images, do not use screenshots from the unofficial English patched ROMs. If it's HGSS, it should be Japanese (for now), no matter whether the names are correct on the patch or not. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 16:49, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Nice work with the anipngs
I'm so glad someone finally started uploading anipngs :p There is one thing I'd like to point out: remember that not all browsers support animated png (for example, IE, which sadly is still one of the most used browsers). For that reason, start the animation of moves with a frame which looks good when viewed in such browsers (or put a copy of the desired frame as the first frame and set its duration to 0ms, if that's possible). I'm referring to the new image File:Power Whip ani.png, of course :p
Also, revise the sprite File:Spr 4h 157.png - it has too much empty space around it, so it was reverted. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 14:07, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

- You don't need to upload a 240x180px version for the animations. Just put the parameter "gameimagewidth=256px" into the move article at BP, and it'll show the animation as it should. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 14:26, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
