Welcome

Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, Anshar!
Bulbagarden Archives bulb.png

By creating your account you are now able to upload images to help Bulbapedia and Bulbanews. Before you jump in, take a look at these helpful tips:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements. Please see the upload form and/or manual of style before you upload a new image.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload. There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit.
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are no longer allowed. Any personal images found will be deleted on sight.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Card images

Hi there! I see you are uploading new images for some old cards. Here are some relevant Best Practices that we have to make sure your edits match what we already have going on.

  • #1 Even if the image is a Japanese card at the Japanese title, we would still like you to upload a new revision of it and add the {{move}} tag instead of uploading the new image at the new title. It is important for us to have the Japanese image as an available reference, even if it is just a past version of the image. It also helps us maintain any historical data, like upload date, that may come in handy in the future if/when we want to start recording when cards got revealed initially.
  • #2 This point is less relevant if you follow point #1, but don't forget to add categories to any images you upload. The ones that are relevant for cards are [[Category:<Pokémon name>]] and [[Category:<set name>|<card number>]]. You can see an example that someone changed on one of your uploads here.
  • #3 We try to prioritize scans that individual members do themselves. When that isn't possible, we use images from the official websites. These images should always use the {{i-Fairuse-carddb}} tag instead of {{i-Fairuse-tcg}} tag so that we know what is what. Beyond those two sources, it begins to get a bit tricky with sourcing, matching copyrights, watermarks, and other issues, so partner with a staff member when you want to upload an image you've found on the internet.

Thanks for taking an interest in the TCG content here. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with me, or write a comment somewhere below this one. I'll take note to check this page again really soon. MaverickNate 09:42, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

Understood: unfortunately I've already did some other changes this morning before noticing your message, but I'll make sure to keep these rules in mind from now on. --Anshar (talk) 10:14, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
No worries! I don't think any of your new changes were related to these items mentioned above, but thanks for the response! I look forward to seeing what other contributions you have in store! MaverickNate 11:47, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
