Welcome to Bulbagarden Archives, Nuva-kal. Please read the checklist when you upload media files, and be sure to tag all images. - 振霖T 03:29, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Categories = Important

Don't forget to put your uploaded images into categories, based on what's in the image. I.e., if there's a Dragonite, put [[Category:Dragonite]] in the upload summary. Thanks. — THE TROM — 23:58, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Summaries

Don't forget to add them. Thanks. ht14 00:13, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations

Thanks for all the hard work you've done on the Archives. Welcome aboard the new team. Since you're the new TCG guy around here, you're going to need these powers. I trust that you will use them well and help keep this place organized. Jellotalk 09:30, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Rookie Pokémon Tretta Pikachu

Hey, I was wondering if you had by chance uploaded the Rookie Pokemon Tretta Pikachu that's going to be featured in the Pokemon Game Show event next month? This is the image in question. I was just wondering because I'd like to use it for a Bulbanews article I'm writing and I don't really know the naming system involved in the Tretta images. Thanks for the help. --Pokemaster97 21:56, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

I haven't uploaded them yet. I usually don't until the official site updates with the reverse image and stats so I can create the relevant articles in one go. You can go right ahead and upload it if you want though. I would call it "Pikachu P PokémonGameShow.png". Similarly, you could also add the Red Genesect Trophy Tretta, which is awarded at the same event, and call it "Red Genesect P PokémonGameShow.png". Thanks. Nuva-kal (talk) 22:22, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

Updating images

It's better to just link you to the discussion I am having with Chosen than to explain everything all over again. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/User_talk:Coffee#Color_correction_on_sugi_art Jabberwockxeno (talk) 16:28, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

Broken images

A number of files you uploaded on February 1 have been affected by a recent hardware issue, resulting in their loss. They will need to be re-uploaded when you have the time to do so. Thanks, - Kogoro - Talk to me - 22:08, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

Image request

Yo, this is gonna be a super long-shot, but would you happen to be able to upload sprites of Trainer classes from Pokémon Battrio? In theory I could surf around YouTube to get some images, but they definitely won't be sharp quality. ht14 21:09, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

I can have a look at some of the perfect guides I have, though I'll have to get them out of storage. My immediate thought would be that any images of Trainer classes would likely be smaller than the ones I already scanned for the various avatar types. If I recall, the guides don't really go into much detail about them, other than listing the ones you can actually unlock as skins, so images may be limited. I think there were a lot more classes featured in Battrio Tower however, which was a mode present from Battrio S through to the end of Battrio 0. I only own 1 perfect guide from Battrio 0, so any info covering this will probably be as brief. I'll get back to you when I've had a look at them again. Nuva-kal (talk) 23:19, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Ok, great, thanks so much! ht14 01:40, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Right. There's quite a few images, but a lot are partially obscured by other graphics from the midriff down, so I'm not sure how helpful they'll be to you. Would you like me to upload a scan of a page to the archives, or email one to you as an example? Nuva-kal (talk) 14:46, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
That's a bit unfortunate... but yeah, I think it would be fine to email one to me as an example. Thanks again! ht14 20:16, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Crop

I think that we should crop the sprites for Gen VI and VII images. Even the biggest of the sprites, such as Wailord, only take up about half of the space of the image, and the Gen VI sprite sections on Bulbapedia take up a lot of unnecessary space. Celadonkey (talk) 16:08, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

Moving images of SM7

Would you like to move the images for SM7 from SkySplittingEminence to CelestialStorm since Eminence have been changed to Charisma? After moving the images, then I will edit the articles over at Bulbapedia. — Ruixiang95 (talk) 18:51, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

I can do. I was going to suggest this once everything had been renamed as it would save work down the line. I'm in the middle of upgrading all of the Energy card templates at the moment and I've got Ga-Olé stuff ready to mainspace, so I'll drop onto these when I can. Nuva-kal (talk) 19:24, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
I've moved all Sky-Splitting Charisma images to Celestial Storm and updated their categories as well. There's still those from Champion Road to move and update to Celestial Storm as well, plus the odd promo card. I'll sort these too. I do have one small request, though. When you upload images in the future, could you more or less follow the way in which I've updated the categories to? I want to move away from tagging images with the {{i-Fairuse-carddb}} notice, as this was initially created when we were using official images during the Diamond & Pearl Series (which were rather small). Now the official images are of superior quality, I think the {{i-Fairuse-tcg}} is sufficient. Nuva-kal (talk) 11:09, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
May I ask how do we upload images such that there are the Summary and Licensing: headers and the categories in different columns from the start? Because when I upload, the headers are added automatically by the system, and the categories are added in a single row instead of in different columns. — Ruixiang95 (talk) 14:55, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
I wasn't aware of that (I'm probably showing my age here and how set in my ways I am!) I just paste all of the necessary info into the summary box below the destination filename (either from another entry and amending it or from a pre-made repository I've listed in Word/Textpad). This also saves you having to select the licensing from the dropdown menu as you'd already be pasting it into the summary. Nuva-kal (talk) 15:01, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
I once tried to do it by pasting everything into the summary box, but this resulted in having double Summary headers. — Ruixiang95 (talk) 15:15, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
Strange. I don't think I've ever had that problem. I've had a look at the preferences to see if there's anything that may be overriding it, but I can't see anything. Next time you upload an image, see if you can replicate the issue. If you can't, great; but if you do, try uploading one without the ==Summary== when you paste the information. Move Request

Could you move Aether Paradise Ditto Teleport.png so it reads Aether Paradise Ditto Transform.png please?--BigDocFan (talk) 20:34, 8 September 2018 (UTC)

Moving Super-Burst Impact images

Request to move Meganium, Heracross, Sudowoodo, Donphan, Azumarill, Lugia-GX (both Regular and Full Art) and Choice Helmet from Super-Burst Impact such that it is SuperBurstImpact, and not Super-BurstImpact, for consistency with the other cards from the expansion. And [[File:Sky-Splitting Eminence Pokémon Center Limited Set.jpg]] from Eminence to Charisma. Thanks~ — Ruixiang95 (talk) 08:53, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

I've moved the Pokémon Center Limited Set image but I don't see much point in moving the others as I expect all will be part of the Lost Thunder expansion anyway. Nuva-kal (talk) 19:48, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
Will it be possible to move the images to the LostThunder names before I do the editing to the pages over at Bulbapedia. The regular set I can confirmed their numbering. So that we may not need to do double work of changing the filename to the English names later on. Or I can actually proceed to change the names to the English numbering and you'll move them later? Thanks. — Ruixiang95 (talk) 02:56, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Right. Other than ones we don't currently have images for, that's all of them updated and moved. Nuva-kal (talk) 19:52, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. If only I am able to do it myself. — Ruixiang95 (talk) 16:09, 28 October 2018 (UTC)

Upload files request

I don't have permission to upload image files, but Alolan Rattata and Raticate don't have menu sprites. I pulled them from spriter's resource and gave them a transparent background and centred them in a 40x40 canvas. If I link you to them, could you upload them for me please? Also how should I do so? (Google drive etc) Thanks Pallukun (talk) 22:36, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

  • There are indeed sprites for these two, but they don't show up on this page which is why I thought they didn't exist. What needs to be fixed is the link to those sprites in the 'formerly unique' table, where Rattata and Raticate do not appear. Thanks again and sorry for the double posting Pallukun (talk) 10:40, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

how to gain permission to upload switch screenshots

I'm new to here and would like to contribute screenshots of the gen 8 mons for the wiki but have no idea how to do this, nor how said screenshots should look, nor how to message a staff member. please advise. Thanks! - unsigned comment from Gzus (talkcontribs)

Most of your queries should be answered here. You'll need to be autoconfirmed before you're able to upload any images. I'm assuming the screenshots you had in mind are of moves and the like; I don't think there's any specification for these other than that they're to be in .png format. I assume the dimensions of most screenshots from the Switch will be 1,280 × 720 pixels, though you can find examples here. If you have any other queries, let me know. Sign your comments using the four tildes (~~~~) in the character palette. Nuva-kal (talk) 14:31, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

Hidden Fates

Able to move the Japanese equivalent cards to their Hidden Fates name and number. I believe I already changed the images name over at the Bulbapedia articles months ago. Thanks~ — Ruixiang95 (talk) 12:06, 22 December 2019 (UTC)

MezaStar

Hey! Just noticed the Mezastar page doesn't have the icon for Bug-type, and also noticed that there is (apparently) no Bug-types in the game. Looking around I found this asset PDF with a bug-type on it. Would that be in the source from which you pulled the data anywhere? [1] -- Guiltysparkzz (talk) 03:30, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Yes, that's where I extracted the images from, though I'm waiting for a tag image to be uploaded as the colours are slightly different (they're CMYK in the PDF). As soon as there's a Bug type revealed for Mezastar, I'll colour-correct it and upload it. Thanks. Nuva-kal (talk) 16:12, 15 November 2020 (UTC)

Question

Where do you get your card images from?--MissDelibirda (talk) 07:46, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

The vast majority of them will come from the official Japanese Pokémon Card Game website. English ones will typically come from press releases. Nuva-kal (talk) 22:43, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

About Ga-Olé images

Heya! Just a quick question: where do you find Ga-Olé images? Stuff like the Trainer icons. I've been searching the official website, but I was wondering if there's somewhere else I should be looking. TorchicWPip (talk) 04:42, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

All of the Ga-Olé images used on Bulbapedia were from the official Japanese website. I don't think there was ever full artwork of the Trainer and Battle opponents published on there (unlike the more recent Mezastar). I'd wager those on the other Asian localized sites are going to be similar to the Japanese one. Nuva-kal (talk) 14:47, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
