New images
When uploading new images, please make sure to include a summary about the image and where possible, give the image a simple title. I've updated your latest images with these so feel free to have a look to get any ideas what to include.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 18:41, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. You named one of the pictures incorrectly. His name is Cervantis, not Crevantis.--Modesty Elyon 18:58, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Corrected, my bad--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 19:12, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
Images Categories
Hi! So I saw that you uploaded a lot of key frames from the newer anime episodes, but you didn't add the categories for the characters and Pokémon that appear in said frames. When you upload an image, please make sure to include the respective categories of said characters and Pokémon. AnnieCat07 (talk) 15:48, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, since there are too many of them, I first upload everything and after look at the categories. But if anyone sees that I missed something, feel free to help. Modesty Elyon (talk) 15:57, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oh I see. I've already helped with some of them but it's alright if you can do it yourself later. AnnieCat07 (talk) 16:07, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
HZ085
I feel the image I uploaded for HZ085 is better as it features a plot element, I replaced your image on Laqua's page with HZ085 as head images can also be used for other things on other pages like the shield. I do feel that plot related images make better head images than one of the gang exploring Laqua and seeing several of the Pokemon--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 19:32, 21 February 2025 (UTC)
Your Uploads
Hi, I wanted to thank you for your recent uploads. Just wanted to let you know that you can use the text box and dropdown on the edit form to do add the summary and license in a single edit. This can save you an extra step, and has the added bonus of keeping the file history cleaner. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out. Thanks! → SuperPikaPool13 18:40, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
New animated series template
Hi, just letting you know we are beginning to use a new summary/licensing template for animated series episodes here on the archives. At the moment, the template will display categories for the series (e.g. Horizons), and the episode code. It is part of a move to be more standardised and specific with our animated series screenshots. The episodes will show up as redlink category for now, as it has not been finalised how to exactly implement this aspect of the change. It is fine, and indeed strongly encouraged, to use the template as BigDocFan has here. Thank you for your understanding. --Thespeon196 (talk) 13:38, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
Reverting Images
Before you assume a file or image is fanart, check around other social medias before reverting them, then reverting the file back after finding out it's an official artwork. I'm talking about File:Amethio Family Photo.png. The reversion was unnecessary and creates clutter. QuickJolteon (talk) 09:25, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- Em, hello. Don't be dramatic please, there was no clutter. I have a lot of uploads that I tried to put in order, and from fatigue, I did not know where this picture came from. When I discovered the authenticity, I returned everything back, so now everything is fine. Modesty Elyon (talk) 09:49, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- I'm just saying. What I uploaded was fine. I didn't mean come off as rude. QuickJolteon (talk) 10:36, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- As I said too, I have already returned this back; the topic is exhausted. Modesty Elyon (talk) 11:11, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to upgrade existing images to make them bigger and/or better quality, we have a new template that we're adding to images, for example if the image is from HZ016, the template will be ({{i-Fairuse-screenshot-animated-series|HZ|016|Quaxly, We Can Do It}})--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 15:56, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- I should clarify that it is placed separately from the usual licensing template, just under the summary and is a different template, see my edit to Brassius Tera Orb for example.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 16:21, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
Hi there!
I saw you uploaded some neat magazines scans, namely these ones. Was curious where you got them? They're very high quality! Although, as a heads-up, our limit for image sizes is 1920x1920. If you have a large image you think should be uploaded, don't forget to partner with a staff member first! Also wanted to know where you think we might use these? Images like magazine scans were common back when Bulbanews was hosted as its own wiki, but we don't upload these often anymore unless they have a clear use on the wiki. Do you mind clearing these things up for me? Appreciate it! Landfish7 03:51, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. I saw that Hikaru Wazana uploaded one of them, so I uploaded the rest. They can be used in the artwork section when the character profile is created in the future, as was the case with some other characters like Coral, Sidian, Friede, etc. Modesty Elyon (talk) 04:19, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- That makes sense! What source should we list for these images by the way? Landfish7 13:33, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- CoroCoro. This magazine often promotes new announcements, including those related to Pokémon. Modesty Elyon (talk) 15:52, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Right, but is there a particular website you got these from? It'd be good to know where the scans came from. Thanks for answering by the way. Landfish7 17:37, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- If I remember, I'll write. I've been looking for a lot of material in different places over the last month, and I couldn't save all links. Modesty Elyon (talk) 18:33, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- We'd appreciate it! For copyright reasons, we have to be able to show that these scans of the most recent CoroCoro releases weren't taken by us. Hate to rush you, but if we don't hear back soon, we'll have to play it safe and delete the images within the next 24 hours. Thanks for your help. Landfish7 14:03, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, I didn't quite get it again. Do you want to delete all these images? Modesty Elyon (talk) 14:14, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- We may end up needing to upload new versions from a valid source. Additionally, many of the scans going around the Internet are from the official ebook, so we may need to crop them in order to satisfy fair use guidelines. Hang tight as we look into this further and decide how to best proceed. Landfish7 16:52, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have already cut them. As for the fact that they are from a magazine, I can confirm this with several links, including to the official store distributing the magazine. That is, they are not fake, if this is the only thing, many news feeds have reported this. Modesty Elyon (talk) 17:04, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- The image are real yes, and appear to be screenshots from the official ebook. We cannot have full images of pages from a paid product as that can risk violation of copyright law, and simply cutting out the white space will not be enough. We will need to crop out just what we need from the images, such as the art, if that's what we plan to use from them. Your patience is appreciated while we fully assess what the next steps are. Landfish7 17:43, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- These particular magazines and any other new products coming out are something that are particularly high risk for us to be hosting at full-size uncropped, as Shogakugan is very strict about content laws. Landfish7 17:46, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- In general, I want to note that pictures like this have been around for quite a while; my uploads are not much different in terms of size, and it seems like no one has complained about them yet. If we take my uploads specifically, they are posted in different sizes in many news resources now, and Shogakukan has not made any complaints. At least I have not heard anything like that to date. Artworks
Why did you revert? We happened to submit the images at the same time. You didn't need to revert the same picture again?? QuickJolteon (talk) 01:09, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello. First of all, why didn't you answer me in the new section? This is a new conversation. I moved it down and added a discussion heading. Modesty Elyon (talk) 01:29, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- Secondly, your actions completely confused me; you should not have uploaded duplicates. I found larger versions of these three artworks and already uploaded them first. And a minute later I saw that you uploaded a duplicate of the Liko artwork on top of my upload. I did not understand this at all because I had already replaced the pictures with big sizes. Modesty Elyon (talk) 01:46, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
- Looks like you both uploaded the same image from the same source at the same time (only a few seconds apart). This is rare, but it happens. No one is at fault here, but there was no need to revert the image after QuickJolteon had uploaded it since it was the same size from the same official source. Please assume good faith from other editors, and try to converse with them on talk pages before doing multiple reverts. Thank you, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions! → SuperPikaPool13 13:45, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Adding summary and categories
Hi, just a quick reminder to add a summary and categories when you upload images. This is usually best done as you upload the image, to save the extra edit and having to come back to it later :) --Thespeon196 (talk) 11:42, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- Another reminder about the above. You have not been adding any summary or categories when uploading the images. This can be done by using the text boxes on the Upload form. (For more, see Help:Uploading images.) If you have any questions, feel free to contact any member of staff. Thank you. → SuperPikaPool13 14:07, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- I'm still working and haven't finished uploading. I'll add it when I'm done. Modesty Elyon (talk) 14:17, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Is there any reason why those can't be added while uploading? The edit box on the upload form allows you to add the summary and license in a single edit. This saves an extra step, and has the added bonus of keeping the file history cleaner. If there's any issue in the form that we can help solve, do let us know. → SuperPikaPool13 14:33, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- I tried to do this once, but I don't think it saves time. I find it much easier to classify the picture when it exists. Also, it keeps the field "Comment" clean. Modesty Elyon (talk) 14:50, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Best practice on Bulbapedia is to prioritize having a simple file history over a "clean comment field". You have been requested to participate here in a way that prevents work for other people; if you can't fulfill that request, staff will be required to take alternative measures to ensure that you aren't creating unnecessary work for other editors. Going forward, please include a summary and categories when you are using the upload form. Consider this a final warning. MaverickNate 00:40, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- I don't really understand why I'm getting pressured for having a different way of categorizing files. I'm not the only one who categorizes pictures this way. And I can't always remember the names of all the characters in an image, especially when they're large groups. I don't have a phenomenal memory for every character in the franchise.
- Also, I don't create extra work. It's just that sometimes some editors categorize files faster than I do. Just because I don't make a competition out of this activity doesn't mean I should give in to judgment. Modesty Elyon (talk) 03:20, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Bulbapedia has rules. Staff are tasked with explaining rules to people and ensuring they are followed. By signing up to Bulbapedia, you are agreeing to follow the rules of the website. While you may not be the only person "categorizing files in this way", you ARE the only person who chooses not to follow the rules after staff have explained them to you multiple times. This is a problem.
- If you can't remember the names of all the characters in an image, we are asking you to do that research prior to uploading it instead of after. I find it hard to believe that someone who added all of the images to the wiki page with names of the Pokemon who appear in them couldn't remember the names of said Pokemon when uploading the image. You even included some of the names in the image titles, so not remembering the names of those characters is simply not true. I don't accept your explanation.
- By choosing to upload an image, you are expected to take care of everything involved with an image. By not including a proper summary or categories, you are not properly indicating to others why a particular image is necessary to the wiki. If you cannot fulfill this requirement, the privilege of uploading images will no longer be afforded to you. MaverickNate 03:32, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- At that moment I was first adding names to the Bulbapedia and then planning to come back and add categories; if I did it at the same time, I would have spent much more time on this big job. When I came back, these images were categorized before me in a matter of minutes. I did not expect that someone would make a speed competition out of it. Modesty Elyon (talk) 03:45, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- You continue to mention some sort of "speed competition", but the only person in this situation that I see who is rushing is you. You upload images prior to completing all of the tasks involved with uploading an image, despite knowing what is being asked of you. The staff members coming in after you are fixing the mistake caused by your hasty rushing. Please take the time to do it properly with the necessary categories and summary within the upload form if you wish to continue to have image-uplaoding access MaverickNate 04:08, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- I added them here earlier so that they would have time to be reflected on the Bulbapedia. If the pics are uploaded later, then empty red spaces remain on the Bulpapedia, since the images may not be displayed immediately.
- And not "mistakes" but forgetfulness again, and I am far from the only one who is corrected here. I also sometimes have to correct shortcomings.
- And I always thought that it is important to keep the comment clean. But ok, if for some reason it is so important, then I will try to add a description. Modesty Elyon (talk) 04:38, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

File:Mega Nidothing extra scene HZ096.png conflict
Hi, just issuing a reminder that, rather than continually reverting images and resulting in an edit war, it is much better to start a talk page discussion about which image is better and why, perhaps on the talk page of the file itself. Thespeon196 (talk) 01:00, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, I reversed this image only once and explained why. The first time it was not a revert, but an upload of a new version, because the first image was of poor quality. Modesty Elyon (talk) 01:05, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
Uploading screenshots too early
Hi, friendly reminder that we don't upload images from an episode before it has finished airing, the same as we don't add content to the articles until then. Thanks! Thespeon196 (talk) 10:23, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
Summary and categories with first uploads
A reminder to include both a summary and categories as you upload new images, as your last few initial uploads didn't include them.
The best way to do this is to copy the complete source code from a similar image, paste it into the box on the upload form, and then adjust the summary and categories to your new image accordingly. The licensing drop-down box on the upload form can then be ignored, as the copied source code will contain the correct licensing information already. Give it a try! Horizons key frames
Hey, you upload these quite often so I just wanted to say feel free to add them to the page List of Pokémon Horizons: The Series key frames too! Thespeon196 (talk) 10:27, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oh good. I didn't see the page was moved from the draft.
- Thanks, now I will.👍 Modesty Elyon (talk) 10:59, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
