Welcome

Bulbagarden Archives logo.png
Welcome to the Bulbagarden Archives, S2daam!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your uploading:

The Manual of Style, or MoS, outlines the format and guidelines of all images on Bulbagarden Archives.

All of our administrators are here to help! Talk to them if you have any questions or problems with the Archives.

Tagging images with correct licenses and categories is a must. These guidelines will help you learn more about tagging images.

Miscellaneous
  • Please read the checklist when you upload media files. The checklist is there to make sure you are doing everything necessary when uploading said media files.
  • Be sure to tag and categorize all images. This helps organize the vast amount of images we have here.
  • Check if your image already exists by searching through categories, and Bulbapedia pages. This action will help prevent unnecessary duplicates from appearing.
  • When adding a licensing tag to anime or game screenshots, please avoid just choosing "Screenshot". This is not descriptive and places the images in the wrong category. Make sure to choose "Screenshot from a Pokémon game," or "Screenshot from the Pokémon anime." This will put them in the right categories, and help keep the Archives clean.
  • Does your image have a purpose? Will you be using it on a Bulbagarden Project? Avoid uploading images because you think they are "Cute" or "Awesome". That clutters the Archives.
  • Personal images are limited to two for each User. Personal images include personal logos, personal trainer sprites, drawings, trainer cards and mostly any image that would only be used in the User: namespace and have no encyclopedic value to Bulbagarden and its affiliates. Please tag these with the {{i-Personal}} template for easier organization. Under no circumstance should a photograph of one's self ever be uploaded onto Bulbagarden Archives.
  • In addition, please upload images with meaningful names. Names that are just numbers, for example, do not describe anything about the image, and can make it difficult for searchers. Names are just as important as licenses and categories, so make them descriptive. Please be sure that the filenames contain alphanumeric characters only.
  • Due to the many automated templates used on the wiki, lowercase extensions are imperative. That means jpg and png instead of JPG and PNG. It looks cleaner, it works better, and it does not cause any problems. Make sure to always use lowercase extensions.
  • If you're confused about the requirements for uploading files, have a look at this guide.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Crunch image

The file can be moved. I've wanted to fix up these move images for ages. I can get the admins to help me. Don't worry about it ;) たかはり 10:53, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

One more thing:

Use this in your summaries for the maps as well: {{Regionmap|Kanoko Town|Isshu|BW}} Thanks. Jellotalk 21:27, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Could you also add in another frame to the beginning and set it to 0ms, this is so people without apng compatibility can atleast see where the the indicator is pointing. Right now the first frame appears like a blank isshu map. Thanks. Jellotalk 23:09, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Filb.de

While they do let us use their images, that doesn't mean to upload one of their watermarked images. Especially one that has "filb.de" on them. That is their image and we're not going to steal it. Thank you. --Psyライダー 19:36, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I knew, to be honest once again my bad eyesight made me not realise this, sorry.. --S2daam 20:14, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

BW screenshot size

Would you mind re-uploading the screenshots for BW to match the standard size of: 256x192? Yours are a little bit above that. Thanks. Jellotalk 03:43, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Psst

Read the Main Page.--immewnitythemew 16:37, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Done so. Yeah, for some reason didn't think there was a size limit on logo's --S2daam 16:48, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Anime images

The categories are already incorporated in the template, no need to add them. ht14 20:19, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

PM

I've sent you a PM on the forums, might want to check it. :D Jellotalk 19:37, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, can't reply on the forums, but Wow, I'd love that. I'll help as best as I can. Thanks for the opportunity :) --S2daam 20:02, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Great. We're currently on Gen IV, so it's Spr b g4 ###.png to Spr b 4d ###.png, the d standing for diamond and pearl (since that's where most of the back sprites are from). If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks for helping! Jellotalk 20:20, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Make sure you don't leave any redirects behind, you can uncheck that option that says "Leave a redirect behind" when you're moving stuff. Jellotalk 20:26, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Bronzor sprite

It is a beta sprite, from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl beta. So it can't be deleted. Masatoshitalk 20:15, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Ah, Ok :D Thanks for the heads up. --S2daam 20:16, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Gen V sprites

Hey, first of all, welcome aboard! Second, we're doing per Generations, and we're currently going for Generation IV sprites, so Jello, me and others are refraining from doing them yet, so it'd be great if you do so, we'll tell you when we start, alright? :P Masatoshitalk 20:49, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

So shall I stop moving then? And just be redoing the tags? --S2daam 20:52, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Generation V sprites at least, you can tag them, though. Masatoshitalk 20:56, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Anything with a g4 still in its name, please feel free to move (I think it's mostly the shiny sprites that need to be done now). Jellotalk 21:05, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Kuchiyose No Jutsu!

Daaaamm, if you have some time then kindly help us out and edit the summaries for all the massive load of *goodies*. I'm at my limit now, it would be nice if you help us out since most of the staff is not available at the moment. Thank you ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 18:10, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Sure, love to help :D --S2daam 18:13, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Here are few things that you have to take care of:

  • Edit all the summaries including their names, categories etc properly.
  • Rename the files if it's being used anywhere on the sites (pedia, archives or news).
  • Create the missing/red-linked categories for the Pokemon who have been revealed.
  • Add "delete" or "move" on the stuff that you want us to delete/move.
That's all for now, if you need any help then please feel free to ask. Thanks again ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 18:33, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch for helping out! :D Jellotalk 22:23, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Just making sure

Thanks for the work you're doing at helping us, but I must tell you, just in case. Please don't move any of the files to the new names, since Bulbapedia is in a lockdown and we can't edit it, the Pokémon artwork won't be shown in the infobox, and we can't allow that in this moment. Thank you again for your help and I look forward to hear more about you. This is not a warning by any chance, just a reminder to avoid eventual movings. Masatoshitalk 01:30, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

SoS!

The dropbox is over flowing! SoS!!!(Full of TCG cards)—★Pika3323 13:25, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Scans

The point of my scan list was so that User:Zedbill had a list of what to actually scan and replace with his own scans. Based on the vast size differences between the uploads you are doing, it doesn't seem like you are scanning them yourself. Taking them from other sites is against the rules, and you shouldn't be doing that. Unless you can provide high quality scans that you do yourself, don't bother adding them. MaverickNate 22:10, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Shadows

Since you recently uploaded newer versions of Cheren and Bianca without the background shadows, I thought I'd point out that you missed a few on Cheren. There are still shadows around his hair. ;) Jo The Marten 15:30, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Steven artwork

Thank you for helping remove Lance's cape on the artwork but you forgot to remove the part between his left arm. Thanks! --Renzo493 17:28, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

  • Don't know how I missed that... redone it :) And no problem! --S2daam 17:51, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

A favor to ask

Hey S2daam, can you transparentize Brycen from here and then upload it on top of the current Brycen image? I'd do it, but I'm not good at transparentizing... thanks! =) ht14 21:07, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Wait, never mind. You beat me to it. Thanks! ht14 21:11, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Hey There

hey i saw the higher upload for Pikachu 2, think you can upload higher quality versions of all the other images i uploaded???--LHakaLH (talk) 01:52, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

If I can get round to it I will.. although I just tried to find higher quality versions of some of them but couldn't find them... I'll try some time though --S2daam (talk) 16:46, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Help

Hey there S2daam, it's me again! hey listen when you have the time can you help me find HQ versions of the images I tagged as low quality? Thanks!--LHakaLH (talk) 15:37, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Like the last ones, unfortunately I just can't find any higher quality ones! I'll keep looking though... --S2daam (talk) 16:13, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Links to Bulbapedia

When linking to Bulbapedia articles on game systems, please remember to add bp| to the link. For example {{bp|Nintendo DSi XL}} should be used to link to the Nintendo DSi XL page. G50 16:55, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm aware and have been doing it but must have made an error during the XL files, my mistake --S2daam (talk) 16:57, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Changing X and Y boxart

Hi there S2daam,

Can you change the box art of Pokemon X and Y to have an E rating from ESRB, since the official box art have an E rating. Thanks Agent5514 (talk) 11:44, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Do you have a source for this? --S2daam (talk) 12:46, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes I do, on the offical X and Y websites, http://pokemonxy.com/en-us/root/, and the trailers from Pokemon's official Youtube channel. Agent5514 (talk) 12:57, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Ok, just wanted to be 100% beforehand. Doing so now --S2daam (talk) 13:50, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Press release images

You always manage to beat me on those. You must have a faster download speed or something. We need to work together in future: do you have an AIM, Skype, or other kind of instant messenger I could use to communicate with you? --SnorlaxMonster 13:26, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Unfortunately I don't really use them, other than my email. I think it's because as soon as I get the press release email I'm on the site, getting them, doing my thing in Photoshop then uploading them haha! I love to be punctual! --S2daam (talk) 13:28, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
I hit the download link as soon as the email arrives as well, but often you've already begun uploading while I'm still downloading. I suppose it doesn't matter who does it, as long as it gets done. Oh well, what we're currently doing seems to be working anyway. --SnorlaxMonster 13:39, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
How did you get Celosia's artwork? Did you edit her out of the group shot? --SnorlaxMonster 15:26, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I did. I was hoping a certain press site would update as they usually has .psd's, but unfortunately it doesn't look like it will, so I just edited her out of the group shot as she's the only one without any bits being covered by others. --S2daam (talk) 15:31, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

Kind reminder

When we tell someone that the staff is going to review their upload requests, we do actually mean the staff. Please do not approve images anymore, it's not nice to step on someone's feet. Masatoshitalk 18:23, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Sorry! I didn't think it was a big deal, honestly, and I just wanna help out! But I understand and I will keep myself away from now on --S2daam (talk) 18:29, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Battle Chatelaine Evelyn artwork

Pardon me but where did you find the artwork for Battle Chatelaine Evelyn? Because the artwork that you uploaded is a bit different from the Evelyn artwork from the official guidebook here. Alishere (talk) 21:39, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

I used the VS artwork from what was uploaded here with several different pieces of full body artwork around the Internet and did a lot of editing to ultimately get the artwork we have now. As no official artwork has been released in high quality that isn't a scan or low quality, I did my best to create an image that was good enough to use until a time official artwork is released (If that ever happens), so there is probably many differences. It seems that the VS artwork and the actual artwork is actually different to each other. Although I'm intrigued by the image you posted as there is visibly several irregularities within the face that is different to previous character artwork (Must be a new style of artwork) --S2daam (talk) 22:43, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
Since the artwork you uploaded of Evelyn wasn't the proper artwork, it has been deleted and uses returned to the VS artwork. Please do not upload composites again, completely official artwork or nothing. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 02:26, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Seems a little silly seeming it is official artwork just edited, but who am I to argue. --S2daam (talk) 11:54, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Official Artworks

Hi! May i know where did you get those official Artworks of all Battle Chatelaines, just want to help in cropping those images, as per seeing your uploaded images, their edges seems to be jagged. Just asking if it is okay? Thank You! --GASPERshut... 09:32, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Hey, yeah I got them from 4gamer.net, and sure go for it, if you can do a better job soldier on! --S2daam (talk) 12:32, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
Regarding the Battle Chatelaine artwork, I've reuploaded the artwork found in the XY Guidebook. The two sets of artwork do have their obvious differences, after all. Anyway, I'm wondering; do you have the official artwork of all the Trainer classes? I'm assuming that the guidebook you got the artwork of the Battle Chatelaines, Looker and the Youngster trainer class from also has the Trainer class artwork but I'm just making sure. Nice job on the images, by the way. Alishere (talk) 06:14, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but no. I don't know what's up with those original artworks, but they seem horribly fake like someone attempted to trace them. There is no reason why they should look any different from their VS sprites. And for that matter, what is up with Looker's XY artwork? He doesn't wear a green shirt in-game. Please, provide proof that they are real or else they will be deleted. Until they're confirmed. Do not use them anywhere. Ataro (talk) 07:45, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
The first versions of the Battle Chatelaine artwork did indeed come from the Japanese digital XY Guidebook available on Android and IOS. I bought the full version of the full guide and screenshot the artwork then cropped them. That's literally all I did. The artwork of Looker was also in the Guidebook. I can provide the full versions of the images if you want? --S2daam (talk) 09:16, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
Would this happen to be one of the pages of the guidebook you have? It shows all four Battle Chatelaines in their alternate artwork. Alishere (talk) 23:18, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
Yes, but obviously mine isn't a scan. --S2daam (talk) 08:54, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Admins

So, uh, is there any hi-res art of Tabitha, Courtney, Shelly, and Matt from wherever you got those pics, or do I have to take the ones on the site and upload them here? Ataro (talk) 15:55, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

No, unfortunately. I'm working on them myself now too. But if you upload them first I'll just leave them. I'd suspect they'd be released whenever the next information release is.--S2daam (talk) 16:01, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Oh. You can go on ahead then. Ataro (talk) 16:16, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Artwork request

Hey S2daam, do you happen to have the XY artwork for the male Swimmer? Thanks in advance! ht14 18:15, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Oh, and if they exist, also the XY artwork for the male Pokémon Breeder, male Scientist, Garçon, Waitress, Chef, and the other Furisode Girls? There's no rush but it just so happens these seem to be the missing artwork of the Trainer classes that have a VS sprite. Thanks again! ht14 18:29, 19 August 2014 (UTC)
I should have them, I'll get to work and upload them sometime soon! --S2daam (talk) 08:00, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Maylene Artwork

Hey S2daam, I was wondering were you got that high-res image of Maylene. Moonboy65 (talk) 17:10, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi! I just cleaned up the version Yuuki Asuna posted! ---- samm :) 17:19, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
Ah, could you clean up Byron's image as well? Moonboy65 (talk) 17:28, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Mega Gengar and Mega Kangaskhan

Wait, where in the world did you get bigger artwork for Mega Gengar and Mega Kangaskhan? Moonboy65 (talk) 16:23, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
